Rev. (Mrs.) Angela Carmen Appiah

Rev. (Mrs.) Angela Carmen Appiah is a Minister of the gospel of the Watered Garden Churches headquartered in Dansoman, Accra. She is the Director in charge of Administration also, the Pastor in charge of the Marriage school.
 
In professional practice, she is an Assistant Registrar with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana, a member of the Royal College of Nursing and also of the Institute of Directors, Ghana on whose governing board she serves.
 
The Northern Zonal Belt Coordinator, her present work schedule includes accreditation/ re-accreditation and supervisory inspections of health training institutions and facilities for health care delivery, document review and development also, facilitation at training workshops.
 
 A professional Nurse, Rev. (Mrs.) Appiah holds an Msc. In Advanced Practice (Leadership and Management) from the University of Cardiff, Wales, U.K and has a rich experience in nursing education and administration, bed-side Nursing and corporate governance.
 
In 1995, Rev.(Mrs.) Appiah Graduated from the 37 Military Hospital Nurses’ training college having won the award of “Most promising and Best -Over-All student-Nurse” of the intake VIII group.
 
In 2000, she graduated from the University of Ghana as a Nurse- Educator/Administrator. An alumnus of the Volta hall, (Akoko Bere N’so Nim Adekyee) she won the award of the “Most outstanding Sports Lady”. 
 
2001 through 2006, Rev. (Mrs.) Appiah worked as a Nurse-Tutor first, for the Nurses’ Training college of Koforidua then Korle-bu, Accra. 
 
Angela is married to Nanton Maalti-Naa Edward Owirodu Appiah. Her present passion is Mentoring/Coaching in Nursing and one of her hobbies is singing.

Mr. Emmanuel Asante

Emmanuel Asante has over 18 years professional experience covering areas such as agri-business management, financial management, banking & finance; gained both locally and internationally.
 
Prior to joining NDK Financial Services Ltd in Sept. 2010, Emmanuel was an Analyst of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, based at the International Head Office at Edinburgh, Scotland. He was involved in Mergers and Acquisitions analysis, business reviews and improvements projects, Credit Risk management, financial analysis and control functions. Prior to that, he worked with a couple of reputable organisations in Scotland on short-term contracts in financial management for four years. 
 
Back in Ghana, Emmanuel worked with Agricultural Development Bank as Credit Officer prior to his further studies abroad.  Before then, he worked with Volta River Estates Ltd (VREL) as Plantation Manager and later Quality Control Manager. 
 
Emmanuel holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Agriculture from KNUST, a post-graduate diploma and an MBA (Finance) degrees from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.  He is a member (MCSI) of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (UK), an associate (AIMC) of the Institute of Management Consultants (UK), and a member of the Institute of Directors, Ghana.

Henry Agyeman Boateng

Mr. Henry Agyeman Boateng is a professional chartered accountant currently working with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) as the Principal Finance Manager.
 
Mr. Boateng holds Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of CapeCoast and Executive Masters in Business Administration Degree in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon. 
 
He is a Chartered Manager and member of the Chartered Management Institute, UK. He is also a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA), Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and member of Institute of Directors (MID).
 
Mr. Boateng is a council member of Institute of Directors of Ghana of which he is the chairman of the Finance and Administration subcommittee and a member of ACCA Ghana Panel Network (Board of Governors).
 
Prior to joining GIFEC in January 2006, Mr. Boateng was the Municipal Accountant at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly from 2000 to 2003 having been posted from the Sunyani Regional Treasury as an accountant. He rose to become the Municipal Senior Accountant at the same place for the period 2003 to 2005.
 
During the period of 2003 to 2005, Mr. Boateng was the head of the local governments accounts charged with the responsibility of extracting annual trial balance and preparing final accounts of the assembly. He also handled central government accounts where cash book transcripts of the twenty-two (22) decentralized departments were prepared for onwards submission to Accra.
 
Mr. Boateng has received training both locally and abroad. Notably among them are the following;
 
  • Financial planning and control organized by RIPA in the UK, 
  • Financial control and accountability in the public Sector in Pretoria-South Africa, 
  • Managing effectively in the changing telecommunications environment in the University of Colorado, USA

  • Enhanced performance and strategic management in Houston Texas, USA

Eric Keyman Defor

Eric Keyman Defor is the Vice Chairman of IOD Ghana for the period 2014-2016. Eric is a businessman and serial entrepreneur. He has had extensive business experience since 1984 having managed a number of businesses that include Raduclean Ltd, a cleaning and furnishing services company, Total Safety Ltd, a fire protection, safety and security company, Watershed Gh. Ltd, a geodetic engineering and construction company.
Eric is currently the Managing Director of Vivendi Construction Co. Ltd, a fast growing building and road Construction company and also CEO of Cowrie Investment Fund Ltd, a real estate fund.
 
He serves as Chairman of the Boards of Quandzie and Associates, a legal firm and Goldengate Travel and Tours Ltd, a tour and hospitality company. He is also a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Ghana (CCCG) and the Canadian Council on Africa (CCA).
Eric serves his community through the Rotary Club of Accra, Osu RE of which he has held various offices and been a three(3) time President. He also supports the activities of Special Attention Project (SAP) an NGO focused on children with learning disabilities in Ghana. He also served as PTA Chairman and board member of Corpus Christi Catholic School from 2000 – 2004.
Eric is passionate about leadership and has a vision to establish a leadership training institute to train the youth to become honest and responsible leaders. He is a motivational speaker and has delivered talks to Rotaract Clubs and Youth groups in the Catholic Church.

Dr. Frederick Ofosu Darko

Dr. Frederick Ofosu Darko is a Management Consultant, an Entrepreneur and Master Trainer/ who works extensively with Senior Management, Directors and Boards, providing excellent training, expert consultancy, facilitation and business coaching. He is an expert in Corporate Governance and Strategy. He is a resource person for the Institute of Directors, Ghana since April, 2007 and  has been consulting and providing training for a number of public, private and non-governmental institutions such as Graphic Communications Group, National Insurance Commission, Engen Ghana Limited, CARE International, etc. Frederick Ofosu Darko is the CEO of Terabyte Consult Ltd which specializes in providing Training, Management/IT consulting services. He has worked as a lecturer at Thames Valley University and Jeff Wooller College both in London.
He has Master of Science Financial and Legal Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Information Management both from Thames Valley University in the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (London) and the current President of the Institute of Directors, Ghana. 
He has a keen interest in Human Resource Development, E-business Management especially using the concept of IS/IT strategic approach in managing Information Systems and Technology. His interest also covers using Knowledge Management Concepts and Processes to help develop and conserve corporate memory.

Mr. Justice Awuku-Sao

A chartered accountant and management and governance consultant; a fellow of the Institute of Directors – Ghana (Institute). Currently, I serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute having been appointed in 2004. As Chief Executive Officer, my responsibilities include:
  • Day to day management of the Institute
  • Raising funds to finance the operations of the Institute
  • Recommending strategic plans to Council for approval
  • Implementing approved plans and policies for implementation
  • Serving as the mouthpiece of the Institute
As a member of the defunct Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance, I had the privilege of participating and delivering lectures on corporate governance in many Commonwealth countries, including South Africa, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, etc.
My trusted wisdom is sought on corporate governance issues both at home and abroad. I authored the Best Practice Guide, a hand book published by the Institute.  I have designed many programmes on capacity development for the Institute.  I have written Board Manuals/ Charters for several organisations within the public and private sectors. A product of the University of Ghana Business School, I graduated with a degree in Accounting.  I have a postgraduate diploma in Marketing and a postgraduate certificate in Public Procurement. Prior to joining the Institute, I worked with the Ghana Supply Company Ltd., a central procurement organisation for the Government from 1988 – 2003 and served as Managing Director between 1999 and 2003. I was attached to the Federal Supply and Services in Canada for practical training, undertook working visits to the Crown Agents in the U.K. My key competencies are in the areas of Corporate Governance, Finance and Accounting, Public Procurement, Strategic Planning and Capacity Development. I am the representative of the Institute at the Africa Corporate Governance Network (ACGN).
